Friends Of The Heroes may have started life in London. For that matter it may have started life in Dublin, Athens or Aberystwyth or just about anywhere. Becuase whilst we remember the birthday of the first issue taking place on 4 October 2002 we are no longer sure where the idea began.

But maybe that is not important anymore, maybe what is important is that the idea kept going until… well until you are reading this and maybe a little bit more. It is hard to tell.

The Friends Of The Heroes are a group of friends who write about their heroes. And their inspirations, and their reasons to get out of bed in a morning. We write about music and travel and stories and poems. We write our own stories and poems and music and we travel. We write about other things too as the mood takes us. You can read these articles in our archive here.

Just don't ask us why we do it. We'll give a different explaination each time and you'll probably never get to the bottom of as you can see here.

In the beginning Friends of The Heroes was updated weekly and the fortnightly.

In August 2006 we decided to get with the times and converted the website into a blog so now the site is updated more and less often than when it started.
